TMPD WEEKEND SUCCESSES

The Tshwane Metro Police Department’s officers continue to make outstanding arrests. This past weekend, two drug houses were found and searched in Pretoria East, and four suspects were arrested.

On Friday, 9 August 2019, the TMPD K9 Unit executed a search warrant at a house in the Faerie Glen area where there was suspected drug dealing. Upon their arrival at the house, the officers found two adults and three children.

The house was then searched and the officers discovered that dagga was manufactured and sold in the house. Dagga plants and dagga in zip lock bags were found. They also found a homemade firearm. In the children’s bedroom, they found THC lollies, sweets, fudge and space cakes.

The two adults, male and female, were arrested for manufacturing and dealing in dagga. The children were taken to a place of safety.

During this arrest, more information about a second drug house in the Garsfontein area was obtained. Officers obtained another search warrant and headed to the house. Two suspects were found in the house. After searching the house, it was clear to the officers that drugs were manufactured in the house according to the evidence found.

They found drug-manufacturing equipment, and drugs such as crystal meth, crack cocaine, dagga and dagga plants. They also found four rifles and ammunition. Cash to the amount of R15 800 was confiscated. The two suspects were arrested for manufacturing and dealing in drugs.

On Saturday, 10 August 2019, the same K9 Unit recovered a stolen vehicle that was taken in the Brooklyn area. The vehicle was recovered in Mabopane.

Well done to the TMPD K9 unit for these outstanding arrests.

How criminals really get through electric fences – and what you can do about it
Many people believe criminals climb over electric fences, which is why they build high walls with electric fences on the top. This is mostly incorrect.
