About Us

This GarsHigh community website strives to provide an online space where residents and other community members can communicate, share information and also be informed of important news, CPF matters and events relevant to our community. GarsHigh is the name of the area in Garsfontein (Pretoria) bordered by Solomon Mahlangu, Jacqueline, Serene streets and the Moreleta Spruit. This area is also referred to as Block 7 of CPF Sector 3 (click here for a map of the area).

Some social and mobile groups (i.e Facebook, LocalBlock, WhatsApp) already exist, covering certain aspects of community communication and information. The GarsHigh Community website is not intended to replace or duplicate the function or purpose of these, but rather to provide another platform for GarsHigh residents and community members to communicate and be informed of CPF related matters, community events and news.

The local Whatsapp groups will remain the primary communication platform to communicate important notices while the website will be used to publish articles, news letters, documents and crime reports too large to send via WhatsApp. Residents may then discuss these topics in more detail on the website using the "Community Wall", forums and comments sections.

Why do I need to sign-up?

If you are a resident of GarsHigh or a non-resident member of the community, we need you to register in order for you to gain access to all areas of the website. This includes access to news, information and items of specific interest to Garshigh residents which may be security sensitive and preferably not shared with the general public.

We also need you to register to ensure the CPF has your correct contact information in cases of emergency or important notices which may affect you or your property.

During registration we request some additional information from you such as your email address, a contact number and your street name and number if you are a home owner or tenant in the area. This information is used by the GarsHigh CPF to send you important information regarding the community or CPF related matters.

Your information is not made public or used for any unsolicited communication (please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more detail on this).

By signing up you do not commit yourself to any CPF duties - you simply gain access to important notices which may affect you, your loved ones or your property.

Note: We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to any third party unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.
